Our Programs
The North Thurston Education Foundation mobilizes the resources necessary to provide basic needs, enrich programs, and enhance educational opportunities for the students and staff of North Thurston Public Schools.
At every NTPS school
Student Assistance Grants
Student Assistance Grants help remove barriers to learning by providing essential support like school supplies and fees, food, clothing, toiletries, ASB cards, physicals, and more—so students can focus on succeeding in school.
Deadlines: March 30 & October 30
Learning Improvement Grants
Since 1996, NTEF has awarded Learning Improvement Grants to support classroom projects that enhance student learning and align with district and state goals. Grants are available twice yearly, with application deadlines on March 30 and October 30.
$150,000+ every year
Scholarships
NTEF awards more than $150,000 in scholarships each year to North Thurston Public Schools graduates pursuing vocational programs, trade schools, colleges, or universities, helping students confidently take their next steps after graduation.

We work with the district’s McKinney-Vento Liaison and Family & Youth Resource Center to support students and families experiencing housing instability.

With more than 20 years in public education and nonprofit leadership—including five years as an NTPS McKinney-Vento Homeless Student Navigator—Deanna leads NTEF with compassion and an unwavering commitment to removing barriers so every student can thrive.
